Library Admission Notice
We warmly welcome all readers to our library, and our staff will serve you with all sincerity. To ensure a comfortable and quiet environment for study and work, please observe the following rules:
1. Please remember the library's homepage: http://lib.hainanu.edu.cn/
2. Readers must enter the library by swiping their campus card or through facial recognition. Do not tailgate others or climb over the access gates.
3. For more rules and regulations, please visit the library homepage or follow the library's WeChat official account.
4. Please behave in a civilized and courteous manner. Do not enter the library wearing vests, slippers, or with bare chests. Do not make noise, talk on the phone, or read aloud in the library. Please keep the library clean and tidy. Do not bring food or beverages (except bottled water) into the library. Smoking and eating are prohibited inside; do not spit on the floor, litter, or move tables and chairs.
5. To avoid disturbing other readers, you may take only one book or periodical from the shelves at a time. After reading, please leave it on a reading table or book cart.
6. After passing the library entrance test, please bind your library card in the "Micro Service Hall" (微服务大厅) of the Hainan University Library WeChat official account. The password is the last 6 digits of your ID card number; if the last digit is "X", omit it and enter only 5 digits. This password is used solely for binding your library card on the WeChat platform.
7. When returning books, please make sure all the books you borrowed have been returned before leaving the circulation desk.
8. Undergraduate and graduate readers may borrow up to 20 books for 30 days; faculty may borrow up to 30 books and may renew twice. Before the due date, log in to "My Library" or the library WeChat official account to renew books on your own. When returning books, please make sure the return has been successfully processed before leaving. If books are returned overdue, an overdue fine of RMB 0.2 per volume per day will be charged. If your outstanding fines exceed RMB 10, you will not be allowed to borrow books; please pay the fines via the library WeChat official account or by swiping your campus card at the service desk. If a lost book is not settled before it becomes overdue, overdue fines will continue to accrue.
9. If a single volume is lost, you may, within one month from the due date, compensate by purchasing an identical copy (with the same title, author, and publisher, and the same edition or a newer edition) and pay a processing fee of RMB 5; alternatively, pay compensation of 3–10 times the original price. For a single volume lost from a multi-volume set priced as a whole, compensation is calculated based on the price of the entire set.
10. If you find your library card is lost, please report the loss immediately through "My Library" or the library WeChat account to prevent others from using it to borrow books and causing you unnecessary losses.
11. If a reader loses their campus card, they should report the loss immediately at the Campus Card Center, or first report it on the library WeChat official account (which only covers borrowing and returning privileges).
12. Never take books out of the library without completing the borrowing procedure, and damaging books is strictly prohibited. Security personnel have the right to check whether the books and periodicals carried by readers have been properly checked out.
13. When passing through the exit, readers must accept inspection if the alarm sounds or if duty staff conduct spot checks. Impolite words or behavior are not permitted.
14. If you encounter any problems using the library or have comments on library services, please submit them via the library's WeChat or Weibo, or directly to the University's "Echo Wall" (回音壁). We will respond to you as soon as possible.
